Mental Health - Counselling

Counselling is generally a collaborative process grounded in dialogue to help you sort through and understand your feelings, and actions and equip you with tools to face life challenges.

Ever feel like your thoughts are a bit of a jumbled mess, and you’re trying to sort through it all? That’s often where I connect with people. Through my journey of completing my bachelors of science in psychology at the University of Toronto, to completing my master’s degree in counselling at Gonzaga University I never forget what it means to be a middle eastern woman today. I’ve already spent valuable time supporting individuals across different age groups in a multitude of setting of over 7 years of mental health support. I have a particular passion for working with youth and neurodivergent individuals, understanding the unique challenges and strengths they bring, as I navigate my own neurodivergence. Collectively these parts make me who I am and keep me grounded in the culture I was brought up in and how vastly different it can be in supporting people across the globe!

Trisha completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Toronto and her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Before stepping into the world of counselling, she was involved in substance dependence and traumatic brain injury research, where she developed her passion for helping individuals struggling with their mental health. Trisha’s counselling journey began in Calgary, Alberta, where she provided counselling support for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, vocational stress, behavioural issues, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. Previously, she also worked for community-based programs providing trauma counselling to women exiting violence, abuse, and exploitation.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, holding a Master’s degree in Child and Youth Care and over seven years of experience supporting youth and their families. Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse settings, including schools, community organizations, and with the Ministry of Children and Family Development. I also have specialized experience working with Indigenous youth, which has deepened my understanding of how trauma, identity, and systemic factors can impact a young person’s life. I am passionate about building strong, honest relationships with those I work with, as I believe healing begins when individuals feel safe, supported, and truly heard.
